What a wonderful day I had with my Mother-n-law.
She was very helpful in teaching me
alot of new sewing and embroidery techniques.
I know some of you have done these before, but for me,
sewing has always been something I have wanted to learn for a long time.
I knew the basics like sewing a straight line
but I wanted to expand outside of "the line".
Thanks to Gail, I am learning.

Embroidery Cards
Applique Turtle
(Isn't he cute?)
My first handmade purse.

These Gift Bags are really neat!

Baby Bid
I know what I am going to be doing,
being very busy making all kinds of projects!!!

Weight

Okay, so I need a little humor to go with this diet that I have been on. It seems it's been a life time that I have been on this so called diet! I know I am writing off the usual topic here but I needed to just express myself with a little fun here since it seems like all I do is worry about it.
So for anyone out there that feels like weight is weighing you down, take the advice in the picture above. We Must Get The Word Out!!!!

About Me

I am married to a great man and together we have 4 teenagers. 3 boys and 1 girl. I stay pretty busy with helping my husband with our business and keeping up with my teens. I'm a crafter by heart. I love to sew, quilt, scrapbook, decorate and so much more. If I could just stay home and do nothing but craft I would be in heaven!!! But, I have to feed my kids. I also love to shop for bargins. I do what I can to find a great buy and when I do, it's like Christmas to a kid.
I hope you enjoy my blog and please leave me a comment when you can. I am always trying to change up my blog to make it pretty so you might see changes as you visit. Please bare with me as I love to decorate, even my blog.

Foggy River

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but with the kids out of school for the summer and us going on vacation it has been pretty crazy around here. We took a vacation and stayed at a place called Foggy River in Branson, MO. The river was beautiful and each morning we would take our cup of coffee and sit down by the river and watch as the fog would move across the river. It was so peaceful and wonderful. Take a look at these pictures.

This is looking down the river that stays at 43 degrees all year long.
This is the entry to the place we stayed at. You can see the fog on the river.

A duck enjoying the river.

We also had a dock that we fished for trout off of.

Here is the fog that would come in every morning and evening and sit on the river.

This is the place we stayed at. It was beautiful and huge.
See why I didn't want to come home?

If you would like any information about staying at Foggy River, contact me.

A Great Buy!!!

So, my Mother-n-law needed me to go to Old Time Pottery to look for some aprons for her. Even though they sold out, the trip was not a flop. I got a great buy that was tucked away in a corner in the back of the store. This mirror is 30 by 40 and I got it for $19.99.
I love it when I find a great bargin. Now the question is,
what am I going to do with this?
Hang it in a bathroom, my living room or change the trim and sell it.
So many things to think about.

Back in Business

Heh, I am back in business.
I have worked hard this week-end getting everything set up
but it was worth it. I am now able to get back to craftin...
My daughter and I made these pendents late last night.
These are so easy to do and fun,
take a look....

This one actually has a tan color to it but the picture didn't come out just right.

I made this one since our home town is the Collinsville Cardinals.
Can't wait to wear it during football season.

I love red, so of course I had to make one with the color red.

I got a feeling we will be making alot more of these......

Work Area Makeover

I promise that I will be posting about new craft projects when I am able to get everything back to normal with my work space. I have had to move everything to a new location, which yes is better for me, but alot of work getting it done. So as soon as everything is done I will start posting my, hopefully, creative work.

Getting Back To The Pace Of Life

Well, everything is getting back to normal for me. Since last Tuesday, things have been non stop with getting everything done for my Grandpa's funeral and helping my Dad. It's now Wednesday of this week and I am finally caught up with home and work.

The funeral was wonderful. My cousin Rick did a wonderful job.
It just makes you look at yourself and were you stand in your life when you lose someone.
I thank God that he has blessed me in so many ways.
Until next time.....

My Grandpa

Today, I lost a special person in my life that I will never forget. My Grandpa.
He is my father's father.
He was a man who had alot of character and loved his family very much.
Growing up, he had a very hard life and taught us all how to be survivers. He was a man that could still drive his car and live as an independent person. He lived to be 97 years old and went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2009, in his sleep.
Thank you Grandpa for being the man you were (you are).

This is the last picture that was taken of him with some of his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. We always have a family reunion in March to celebrate my Grandpa's Birthday.
Thank you Grandpa for giving us all life.

My Birthday

Well, I did it. I turned the big 40 on April 6th. There is a part of me that is happy, partly because if I hadn't turned 40 then I would not be here writing this post. Then there is the part that I feel as if something is missing, you know like my YOUTH. Everyone tells me that you are only as old as you feel. I realize that, but it still doesn't give me back my 20's. You know, when nothing has fallen to the floor and the lines on the face aren't there? Don't get me wrong, I am glad that 40 has arrived for me in a way that I can say that knowledge is the one thing that I am very grateful for. I have learned alot and still have alot to learn. I know that I do have one thing going for me, that is I don't act my age.
Thanks to my husband, Lance, my sister, Jacque, and Doug, my brother-n-law, I had a surprise birthday party. Alot of people turned out for my wonderful 40th event. I just want to say thank you to all who love me...

Diet Tribe

Okay, so my sister and I have started a Diet Tribe in our home town. That is were several women come together and support each other while we are trying to lose that fat off of our bodies. We had our first meeting the first Monday in January. Everything went really well and the 10 ladies that join seems to be really pumped up and ready to start losing weight. We thought when we started this that we would only have a turn out of maybe 8 people including us. Well, we just had our 3rd meeting and we are up to 18 ladies. I have to say I am really proud of everyone in it. Everyone has lost around 5 to 10 pounds and are really sticking to the goal. Way to go girls!!!! As for me, I've lost 2 pounds. That's IT!!!! I will do better I promise!
